Jacopo Bassano

Jacopo Bassano (1510-1592), also known as Jacopo dal Ponte, was an Italian painter who trained in the workshop under his father, Francesco the Elder, and studied under Bonifazio Veronese in Venice. He painted primarily religious paintings, including landscape and genre scenes. Bassano’s masterpieces were famous in Venice because they depicted animals and nocturnal scenes.
